Building Site Accident Claims
If you have been involved in an accident on a building site, the law is very much on your side when it comes to bringing a claim for personal injury compensation. Health and Safety is even more of an issue on building sites than in most other places of work. European law introduced the need to create specific laws to guide building companies on the level of care they must take to protect the safety of their employees.
If you work on a building site, in addition to facing a civil claim for personal injury compensation, building site accident claims will also undoubtedly involve an investigation by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Many of our clients have been concerned about their claim prompting action by the HSE as whilst you may want to claim money that is rightfully yours, you may not wish to see your employer get in trouble or even face prosecution. We are sensitive to this common issue and will guide and assist you with your claim whilst also having regard for your overall objectives.
Please note that the way personal injury claims are funded will change from 01/04/2013. From this date success fees and after the event insurance premiums are no longer recoverable from the Defendant if the claim is successful and are payable by the Claimant from their damages. If you have been injured in an accident and wish to make a claim and do not want to have to pay up to 25% of your damages in success fees please contact us immediately.
Please be aware because of the bank holiday we will not be able to obtain insurance or take claims under the old regime (i.e. where no deductions are made from your damages) after 12pm on 28/03/2013.
