Jeanette Miller - Senior & Managing Partner

JS Miller Solicitors was founded by Jeanette Miller, aka "Miss Justice" who is the Senior & Managing Partner in 2001.

After obtaining an honours degree at Leeds University and completing her academic career at Chester College of Law she entered the legal profession as a trainee solicitor at which time she became the victim of an accident herself. Having fallen down some faulty steps and injuring her back at work, Jeanette knows all too well what effects such injuries can have and how it feels going through the process of bringing a claim for compensation.

It was after successfully recovering compensation for her injuries that Jeanette was inspired to form her own practice with the kind of lawyers she would have wanted to deal with her case. Lawyers who understand that it is not only about money, but also about getting physically fit again and achieving some form of recognition for the pain, suffering and injustice a victim experiences after they have been involved in an accident.

In 2001, Jeanette Miller became one of the youngest Managing Partners of a solicitor's firm in the UK at just 28 years of age when she set up the firm.

Originally concentrating her skills on Civil Law where she achieved huge success in her own practice JS Miller Solicitors, Jeanette then went on to take over the running of her father's practice Geoffrey Miller Solicitors, www.motoroffence.co.uk one of the UK's only firms specialising solely in defending drivers facing prosecution for motoring offences. Both firms are no run side by side.

Jeanette's vision is what sets her apart from many other solicitors claiming expertise in the field of motoring law and personal injury law. She personally oversees the training of all staff at the firm to ensure her meticulous skills are mirrored throughout the firm. She demands the best from her staff and she makes sure their efforts are regularly rewarded to promote absolute dedication and motivation.

Jeanette does not bamboozle her clients with solicitors' jargon. This attribute teamed with her approachable nature means she is not the stereotypical solicitor, but is the lawyer for the people. If you feel like you have a "David versus Goliath" fight ahead of you, Jeanette and her team will step up to the plate on your behalf and fight to achieve Justice. Jeanette's particular areas of expertise in the field of personal injury include tripping and slipping accidents, road traffic accidents and accidents at work including the complex area of repetitive strain injuries (RSI).

Many solicitors will refuse to deal with repetitive strain injury cases for fear that they are too risky with too much work to be done on them to ensure a successful outcome. Jeanette has been involved in countless cases involving repetitive strain injuries ranging from keyboard injury claims to people working on assembly lines in factories. One of our most unusual RSI claims involved a lady who worked as an ice cream vendor who unfortunately suffered a RSI after vending ice cream non-stop for an entire day without breaks.

Jeanette is a member of The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and the Pan-European Organisation of Personal Injury Lawyers (PEOPIL). She is also accredited with Personal Injury Law Society Panel status.

Jeanette believes strongly in the mantra famously quoted by Ghandi: "Be the change you want to see in the world." Taking this principle very seriously, she was recently dubbed as "Miss Justice" for her work in fighting against law changes that would have greatly affected innocent motorists, and her e-petition attracted almost 22,000 signatures and resulted in an Early Day Motion being tabled in Parliament. The petition was not met with a favourable response from the PM and so the Law Society took up the cause in January 2010 and successfully sued the government. Jeanette assisted the Law Society with the fight providing data and case studies to ensure that Justice was eventually done!

Aware of the need for social consciousness to feature in the minds of any modern business owner, Jeanette has recently taken up two causes she feels she can assist. She has been charged with the role of fund raiser for the charity, Addiction Today helping those with any type of addiction but particularly with drug and alcohol addictions. She was also recently appointed as an Ambassador for the Duke of Edinburgh scheme. The Duke of Edinburgh award is now available to youths serving at Her Majesty's Pleasure in Young Offenders Institutes and Jeanette and her team are keen to give back to help inspire young people whose lives have started off on the wrong footing.
